El mapa muestra los pisos y las instalaciones de la mina Crandall Canyon, ubicada en el condado Emery, Huntington, Utah.
Los equipos de rescate realizan una perforación de 460 metros de profundidad para encontrar a los mineros.
Numerosos vehículos de emergencia se encuentran en los alrededores de la mina.
En la ciudad de Huntington, a unas diez millas de la mina, los familiares de las víctimas aguardan noticias.
La empresa de electricidad Rocky Mountain Power, que tiene una planta en el área, envió una cuadrilla de rescate y equipo pesado a la mina, aproximadamente 225 kilómetros al sur de Salt Lake City.
Los mineros cuentan con suficiente agua, comida y tanques de oxígeno para varios días, las autoridades insistieron en que el tiempo apremia y la prioridad es encontrarlos vivos o muertos.
Seis equipos de rescate, apoyados con al menos 30 tipos de maquinaria pesada, continúan intentando establecer contacto con los mineros.
Los mineros se encuentran a mil 500 pies de profundidad, y a dos mil pies de la entrada más cercana a la mina.
El desplome en la mina fue tan violento que las autoridades pensaron inicialmente que era un sismo pequeño.
Tres de los seis mineros atrapados desde el lunes en una mina de carbón en Utah son de nacionalidad mexicana.
