Se divierten con la Tomatina en España

Jóvenes se divirtieron jugando en las calles teñidas de color rojo.
Turistas de todo el mundo asisten a la tradicional fiesta de la Tomatina.
En 1957 se permitió la Tomatina y se instauró la fiesta de forma oficial, y desde entonces, es el Ayuntamiento de Buñol el que organiza y promociona esta curiosa batalla que les ha hecho mundialmente conocidos.
En 1955, estando prohibida la fiesta, se celebró como protesta 'El entierro del tomate': una manifestación en la que los vecinos portaron un ataúd con un gran tomate dentro.
Al año siguiente, los jóvenes repitieron el altercado de forma voluntaria y llevaron los tomates de su casa, y aunque les era impedida la celebración continuaron con la fiesta hasta que fue prohibida a inicios de los años cincuentas.
La tradición de esta fiesta data desde 1945, cuando en las fiestas populares de verano en el desfile de disfraces de cabezudos y gigantes, dos grupos arreglaron sus diferencias con los tomates de un puesto de verduras que estaba allí.
Aún después de acaba la fiesta, las calles seguían rojas al irse muchos de los participantes a las regaderas que dispone el Ayuntamiento y que resultan insuficientes para quitar todo el tomate que hay en las ropas y cuerpos.
Para esta fiesta, el Ayuntamiento pone las reglas de juego, como las de cubrir las paredes de los edificio con plásticos, además de evitar el lanzamiento de objetos que no sean los tomates, los que son seleccionados en un estado maduro.
Durante una hora, los miles de asistentes se lanzaron los tomates, que primero llegaron en cinco camiones y después caían en la calle y entre las personas.
El Ayuntamiento de Buñol destacó en un comunicado que este año tienen mención especial los visitantes de India, que el año pasado filmaron la Tomatina para la película 'Sólo se vive una vez', que fue éxito de taquilla en Bollywood.
En su edición 66, la fiesta de este pueblo de la provincia de Valencia congregó también a muchos turistas que cada año protagonizan un 'baño' de tomates, entre ellos estadunidenses, japoneses, belgas, coreanos, australianos, alemanes, franceses y de muchos otros países.
La tradicional fiesta de la Tomatina reunió a más de 40 mil personas, que se lanzaron 120 toneladas de tomate en una 'guerra' muy singular, que viste las calles del centro de Buñol, este de España, y a sus protagonistas de color rojo.
